You may not realize just how easy it is to remove Gelaskins and similar products. Pictures can only say so much. This video shows you first the skin removal, and then it shows the application of a new skin. It is shown on a Macbook Pro, but the same process for use on a netbook. Enjoy!

Tips for Buying Netbook Skins:

The first thing you are probably thinking is about size and fit. Fair concern but please don't fear! You have a few different options out there. If you have a popular model of netbook like the Acer Aspire One or Asus Eee PC then good chances you can get a perfect fit. If not, most netbook skin companies will send a cut-to-fit skin which will fit any 10", 11" or 12" netbook on the market. You will need to measure, draw lines and then cut it, but it's not complicated and will take you about 15 minutes to do.

You need to find the best size netbook skin for your netbook. When a company sells netbook skins and they are listed as small, medium and large it does get confusing. It's always best to email them and check with them about your specific netbook model. Another option you have is to buy a larger skin which you can custom cut to fit. Pretty easy to do although you will be paying for material that you will not need.

In most instances you can reuse a netbook skin if you handle it correctly. DecalGirl says that because of stretching, your netbook skin won't likely be reusable. These companies don't recommend it for obvious reasons. On the other had Gelaskins report most customers are able to reuse their skins. What they do say is that you need to put the skin back onto the protective backing and press it flat. Put something heavy on it like books. Follow with care and you should have no problems reusing your netbook skins. I think you need to ensure that you are gently when you pull it off and avoid stretching it.

Firstly, yes, you can find a netbook skin that is specific to you model netbook. Don't fear though because you can get a large netbook skin (more expensive in most cases) and cut it to size. Some of the netbook skins that you see on Amazon.com won't specify a specific netbook model. It's always best to double check. The process in cutting a skin to fit is not a big deal. A few measurements and cutting and you will get a perfect fitting netbook skin. DecalGirl for example has a 'universal netbook skin' which can be custom cut by you for a perfect fit.
